History of the Idaho State Flag:
There is little known about the history of the Idaho state flag. It was officially recognized in 1907 and offers a navy blue background with the state’s seal in its center. The state’s seal was designed by Emma Edwards Green and shows a man carrying a wielding shovel and mining pick, a woman carrying scales of justice, the state’s motto “Esto Perpetua” or May it endure forever, two cornucopias, an elks head, a sheaf of grain, green grass, and finally the blue sky. On the flag the seal is surrounded by a brilliant gold band. Under the seal is a red banner which is bordered in gold that proudly displays “State of Idaho.” The flag is bordered by gold colored fringe.
