Minnesota State Flag
History of the Minnesota State Flag:
The history of the Minnesota state flag is a bit unknown. The flag of today is blue and offers the state’s seal in its center. This seal offers a woman’s slipper in white and the state’s flower. A red banner offers the states motto and 19 stars are displayed around the circle to show the state are the 19th state, after the original 13, to be admitted to the Union. Outside of the banner is the state’s name and the year 1859 which is the year of Minnesota’s admission to the Union. There are two other years on this flag, 1819 and 1893 which represent the date of Minnesota’s first settlement and the date the flag was officially adopted respectively. This flag was corrected in 1957 to add pink to the woman’s slipper as that is native to Minnesota
